“A dossier on paedophiles allegedly associated with the British government was assembled by the British Member of Parliament Geoffrey Dickens, who handed it to the then-Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, in 1984. The whereabouts of the dossier is unknown, along with other files on organised child abuse that had been held by the Home Office.”
A TOTAL of 114 files linked to allegations of paedophile activity in Westminster may have been found and destroyed, MPs were told yesterday.
Mr Sedwill the former Home Office Secretary in a discussion with current secretary Sajid Javid stressed no evidence was found, that documents had been inappropriately destroyed.
But he said: “I am concerned frankly about the 114. Most of these files were probably destroyed, because the topics they covered would have been subject to normal file destruction procedures in place at that time.
Sajid David in a response said “
They cannot be confirmed to be destroyed because there is not a proper log of what was destroyed and what wasn’t.”
